Design Principles
Proximity — Brennen Hawkes

The proximity on this website is done very well. It is laid out very nicely, and seems like it was designed for mobile first. every button is big enough to hit without accidentally hitting something else. All the buttons and information are very close together, but there is just a little gap of whitespace which makes the page look better. There are two apparent gropus on the screen, one with buttons to take you to other games, and many more options below with articles and news. All of the buttons are within thumbs reach in the bottom right corner. One thing that was particularly well designed was when the site was first launched, there was an option to download the app, and it was in the bottom right corner, which is the “sweet spot”, and is the most accessible on the screen. It didn't take up too much space.
Alignment — Kenneth Ato Brown
The content on Goal.com are aligned in a straight column, with one section placed upon the other. This makes it easier for the eye to scan through the information on the page; since the only thing the eye will have to do, is to scan either upwards or downwards.
Repetition — Kenneth Ato Brown
The principle of repetition has been well implemented on Goal.com. The sizing of the images is the same, and the sizing of the containers are also the same. The use of typography is also the same for the Headings, and the information summary.
Contrast — Israel Silva

This page has little contrast in my opinion. The light gray background does not have a lot of contrast with the white boxes. There is not a lot of contrast in typography, either since only one font is used throughout the site.
Typography — Israel Silva

Typography: This page uses only sans-serif fonts which does not give it much variety and contrast. The sizes are pretty much all the same and they only vary in color just slightly, from black to gray.
Site Purpose Statement
The purpose of this site is to provide those interested in football, with latest news around the world; including transfers, injuries, games, and other interesting information, in a layout that would make it pleasing for even those who do not enjoy football to easily understand the passion that football creates.
